The Colorado Avalanche took on the number 1 seed The Calgary Flames and completely annihilated them with a series win 5-1. This is the first time the Colorado Avalanche Hockey Team have won a playoff series in 11 years. Watch the video below to see the winning goal that sealed the final game of the series. With the Calgary loss, both #1 seeds have been eliminated from the playoffs having won a single game between them.

For those who are riding the Cale Makar train, he continued to play well. He still will make a rookie mistake or two, which can be forgiven in a 5-1 win, but there is nothing like learning in the playoffs. Cale initially had an assist which was taken away but was given back to him after the goal was reviewed.

Now the Avs get some much-needed rest and await their next opponent in either the San Jose Sharks or the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Denver Nuggets have the series tied at 2-2 with only 2 games away to win the first round of playoffs. They are so close.  It’s been ten years since the Nuggets won a playoff series. In the 2008-2009 Nuggets beat The Hornets in five games in the First Round, then defeated Dallas Mavericks in five games in the Semifinals to reach the Conference Finals for the first time since 1985, ending their streak of five straight first-round exits after Carmelo Anthony was drafted in 2003. However, the Nuggets lost to the eventual NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers in six games, ending the Nuggets season and playoff run.

The Nuggets defeated the Spurs, 117-103 tonight in San Antonio. Nikola Jokic finished with a team-high 29 points along with 12 rebounds and 8 assists for the Nuggets, while Jamal Murray tallied 24 points, 6 assists and 3 three-pointers in the game. LaMarcus Aldridge recorded 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals. The Nuggets tie the series up at 2 games each.
